FESTIVAL ACTIVITY
Terms of sale.
Every sentence here describes something the software actually does. The three limits that would be easier to leave out are in sections three, four, and five.
1. What you are buying
A license to use Festival Activity version 1 on up to two of your own installations, for as long as you like. The price is $PRICE, paid once. There is no subscription and nothing renews on your card.
2. How activation works
You paste your key into the app once. The app exchanges it for a lease that lasts 90 days and is tied to that installation. While the app can reach the internet it renews the lease on its own, before it runs out.
Between renewals the app needs no network at all. You can use it with no internet connection for the whole 90 days, because it checks the lease on your own machine rather than asking us.
3. Installations, and what one is
Two at a time. You can release one from inside the app, or ask us to release it for you.
An installation is a copy of the app on a machine, identified by a random id stored alongside your data. It is not a fingerprint of your hardware. Reinstalling the app keeps the same installation and the same seat. Reinstalling your operating system, restoring to a new machine, or moving to a different computer creates a new installation and uses one of your two.
That is a real limit and we would rather say it than dress it up. Hardware fingerprinting would break for anyone who replaced a component and would promise something this product does not do. If you run out of seats, ask and one will be freed.
4. Refunds, and what a refund does not do
A refund policy has not been published yet. Until it is, ask through the contact form and you will get a straight answer.
Whatever the policy, one thing is true of every refund and every revocation: any lease already issued keeps working until it expires. The app checks your license on your own machine with no network, so revoking a license stops new activations and renewals and reaches no installation that already holds a lease. In the worst case that is 90 days of working software after a refund. We would rather tell you that than pretend otherwise.
5. Lost keys
Write through the contact form with the email address you paid with. A person reads it and answers. There is no automated recovery and no self service portal, because this is one product at one price and an automated recovery flow would be a second system to secure.
6. Your data
The timeline is built on your machine, from your own repositories, and stays in ~/.obey/plugins/camp-timeline. Nothing about your work is sent anywhere. We never see your repository names, your commit messages, your file paths, or your timeline.
The only network requests the app makes are activating, renewing, and deactivating your license. Those carry your license key, your installation id, the platform you are on, and the app version, and nothing else.
7. Updates
Every version 1 update is included, for as long as version 1 is maintained. A future major version is a separate purchase, and your version 1 license keeps working when it arrives.
8. Requirements
macOS 13 or later on Apple silicon or Intel, and Linux on x86_64. There is no Windows build. Camp and Fest are installed separately and are free, and git must be on your PATH.
9. Who you are buying from
Obedience Corp. Payment is taken by Stripe, which handles your card details; we never see them. Tax is calculated and collected at checkout where we are registered to collect it.
